KORTRIJK

The city of Kortrijk is included to the region Région Flamande, to the province Flandre Occidentale, to the district Kortrijk and to the canton Kortrijk, belgium.

It is a garrison town, Kortrijk has experienced a turbulent history from the Middle Ages to the French Revolution.

Commercial city since its origins, manufacturing since the sixteenth century, the industrial revolution will make it a major industrial capital mainly around textile and mechanical industries.It is known by the belfry of Kortrijk (Belfort) located on the Grand-Place, the towers of Broel, the Artillery Tower (Artillerietoren).
