SALALAH

Salalah is a port city of the Sultanate of Oman located on the Arabian Sea at the foot of Jebel al Qara. It is the capital of the southernmost administrative entity, the governorate of Dhofar.
While Muscat - the national capital - lies north of the sultanate, Salalah is the second center of gravity and the second largest city in the country. It is separated from the first by a vast desert space and several mountain barriers: Djebel al Qamr in the north-west, Djebel al Qara in the north, and Djebel Samhan in the north-east.
Salalah has a large container port1 and an airport. Salalah is known by Al Hisn Palace, palace of Sultan Qaboos,
Al Balid Saba Archaeological Site (Downtown), Salalah Nature Reserve, Khawr Salalah, West Lagoon, Bird Sanctuary, Nabi Imran Tomb, Prophet Saleh's Camel Ride, Salalah Park, Corniche beach, Markets: souq al Hisn, souq of gold, new souq.
