CHICAGO

Chicago is the third largest city in the United States by population and is located in the northeast of the state of Illinois. It is the largest city in the Midwest region and is the main economic and cultural center. Chicago is on the southwest shore of Lake Michigan, one of the five Great Lakes of North America. The Chicago and Calumet rivers cross the city.

Chicago is a jewel of architecture and is the world capital of modern architectural art.

This city is in a way the gateway to the American Midwest. What is most striking when you set foot in the city of Chicagoans (Chicago residents) is the kindness of the people who live there. Being often farmers of origin the people are warm, very welcoming, interesting and interested.

It is very easy to discover the city on foot because all the main attractions are located very close to each other. It's a nice city, alive and well located on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. The lake often gives the impression of an inland sea with beaches of blond sand and clear water. Many people in Chicago take advantage of the vacation period to do some swimming.
